A Russian cargo vessel has docked with the orbiting International Space Station(ISS) to deliver technical supplies, food and fuel to the three astronauts aboard the station, Russian mission control reported.

The Progress M-44space ship docked with the station this morning two days after blasting off from the Baikonur cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

Russian cosmonauts Yury Gidzenko and Sergei Krikalyov and the US astronaut William Shepherd, its first occupants, have been aboard the 16-nation space station since November 2nd last year.
