Ruby Walsh will return to action at Cheltenham on Friday after being given the all clear by Turf Club chief medical officer Dr Adrian McGoldrick.

Walsh has been out of action since rupturing his spleen in a fall at Prestbury Park last month but is now ready for a return to the saddle.

"Thankfully it's good news and he will be back riding at Cheltenham on Friday," said his sister and agent Jennifer Walsh.

"He'll just have the one ride and that will be Mahonia for Paul Nicholls — he can just ease himself back into it.

"He will then be riding at Cheltenham on Saturday and he will go wherever Willie Mullins wants him to go on Sunday."
