It looks set to be the craze of the summer: ceili dancing at the Red Box, one of Ireland's biggest dance clubs

It looks set to be the craze of the summer: ceili dancing at the Red Box, one of Ireland's biggest dance clubs. Wednesday night was the first night of the ceili which wins best name award, hands down - Boogie An Domhain - and once the punters had got over the shock of seeing people chant "Haon-dotri" instead of "Let's go, let's go, let's go", the evening went with a bang. The ceili band, Temple House, got everyone up on their feet with cries of "Anyone with L-plates just follow the crowd" and when they needed a break, DJ Sean Ban Breathnach took over.

The brainchild of the folks at Claddagh Records and Paddy McPoland of the Mean Fiddler, the next gig takes place on June 17th. So get practising that jig.
