American teenage sensation Andy Roddick posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Austria’s Stefan Koubek last night to reach the semi-finals of the US Men's Claycourt Championships in Houston, Texas.

Seeking his second straight ATP title, Roddick finished off Koubek in 49 minutes to extend his winning streak to eight matches, including a victory over the Austrian in last week's semi-finals at Atlanta.

There, the 18-year-old made the most of his first career clay-court tournament by winning the Verizon Tennis Challenge. He became the first US teenager to win an ATP title since 19-year-old Michael Chang at San Francisco in 1992.

Third seed Jerome Golmard of France will meet Roddick in the semi-finals today after an easy 6-3, 6-2 win over unseeded Czech Jiri Vanek.
