Fresh from his Grammy-winning collaboration with the legendary Burt Bacharach, the no-less legendary Elvis Costello embarks on a world tour in the company of long-standing musical partner and former Attractions keyboardist, Steve Nieve. The Lonely World Tour will see Costello dipping into his enviable back catalogue to deliver different readings of his best-known songs. The tour arrives in Belfast's Waterfront Hall on Tuesday and Dublin's National Concert Hall (shows begin at 8 p.m.)
Elvis has no plans to bring The Attractions back together again, which is just as well since the singer is busier than ever, contributing a version of Charles Aznavour's She to the upcoming film, Notting Hill, starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, and getting together again with Bacharach for a version of I'll Never Fall In Love Again, which will feature on the new Mike Myers Comedy, Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me.
The Irish Times has free tickets for this concert. The first 15 callers to 6792022, Extension 676 on Monday morning, will receive a pair of tickets. Calls must be made between 10.0010.30 a.m.
