Long serving members of the RUC Reserve have lost a claim for thousands of pounds after a pensions ruling in the Belfast High Court yesterday. Pensions will be calculated from April 1988, and not March 1972, when the first full time members were appointed. Pensions for the RUC Reserve were introduced in July 1994, when the Northern Secretary decided to back date the qualifying period to 1988.
