Renault sales rise 2.2% in 2007

Renault's worldwide sales of cars and light trucks was up 2.2 per cent to 2,487,453 units, and the group said its share of the world market was 3.6 per cent excluding its alliance partner and 44.4 per cent subsidiary Nissan of Japan. This is down from 3.7 per cent in 2006.

While sales in Europe, including France, were down 4.1 per cent, there was a 33.4 per cent rise in south and central America. In Russia, sales rose 39.6 per cent.

The company expects a 2008 rise of at least 10 per cent as it steps up new product roll-outs.
