Two men with suspected 'Real IRA' links are to appear at a special sitting of the Special Criminal Court this evening.
The pair, believed to be senior figures in the organisation, were in a car stopped during a surveillance operation in Limerick on Thursday.
A number of items were reportedly found in the car, which was has been examined by ballistic experts.
The men, aged 33 and 35, and both from Limerick, were afterwards detained on suspicion of possessing firearms and were being questioned by gardaí under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act.
