The Leinster club championship quarter-final between Rathnew and UCD will take place in Newbridge on Sunday afternoon and not Aughrim as originally planned.

Officials inspected both pitches this afternoon and while the surface at the Wicklow venue had improved little since last weekend's last minute postponement, Newbirdge was deemed to be playable despite the heavy rain in recent weeks.

The match has already been postponed twice with first Parnell Park and then Aughrim adjudged unplayable causing a major headache for the Leinster Council who are keen to have the final itself played before Christmas.

Throw-in is scheduled for 2.30pm.
