Qualceram Shires said today it expects full-year profits to decline by 38 per cent this year as the housing slowdown hits sales.

Profit before tax for the year for the Irish bathroom manufacturer will be around €2.4 million compared with €3.9 million for the year earlier period, the Co Wicklow-based company said.

Sales will be as much as 9 per cent below analysts' forecasts, it added.
