The PSNI are investigating comments posted on a website today which accuse individuals in Ballymena of involvement in the weekend attack which claimed Catholic teenager Michael McIlveen's life.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed it was monitoring the situation after death threats were allegedly issued against individuals through the site.

SDLP assembly member Seán Farren urged schools to ensure young people are not posting messages on school computers which name and threaten young people they believe are responsible for the murder of MichaelMcIlveen.

The victim died in hospital last night. He had been getting a take-away pizza when he was chased from an entertainment complex in the town. He was battered by a gang, who cornered him in an alleyway and allegedly used a baseball bat before stamping on his head.
