Police in Antrim are investigating a knife attack on a woman in a park in Newtownabbey last night.

Police in Antrim are investigating a knife attack on a woman in a park in Newtownabbey last night.

The woman, who is in her 40s, was attacked from behind and stabbed in the chest as she crossed Hazelbank Park at around 8pm last night.

The woman was taken to hospital but her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Police said no motive had been established and appealed for witnesses to contact them.
