Police in Northern Ireland were today investigating reports of two masked men spotted in an area where an arson attack occurred.

They were seen in Martin Green in Shrigley, Co Down, near Killyleagh at about 11.25 p.m. last night - about 20 minutes before an attack on a 58-year-old man's home.

Flammable liquid was thrown through the living room window of the house, setting the curtains alight and causing smoke damage to the room.

Neighbours raised the alarm and firefighters dealt with the blaze. The occupant of the house was unharmed.

Detectives in Ballynahinch today urged anyone who witnessed the attack or who could identify the masked men to help their investigation.
