Police were attacked with petrol bombs in Derry last night during a third evening of disorder.

The PSNI was called to investigate disturbances at Moss Park in the Galliagh area shortly before 11pm.

Police were responding to reports of youths blocking the road and setting wheelie bins on fire.

On arrival petrol bombs and other items were thrown at police vehicles. No-one was injured in the attack.

Other items such as tyres and rubbish were set on fire at Glengalliagh Road.

The area returned to calm at 2.30am, a PSNI spokeswoman said today.
