Two anti-globalisation demonstrators halted a major Spanish league football match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid for seven minutes.

Demonstrators ran onto the field and handcuffed themselves to the goalposts behind Barcelona goalkeeper Roberto Bonano just after the start of the game at the Nou Camp.

They were wearing T-shirts with "Let's stop capitalist Europe" printed in Catalan.

Players from both teams watched as security cut through the handcuffs and escorted the demonstrators off the field.

Spanish news agency Efe said the demonstrators were arrested.

The game has now resumed.
