Prosecution of cleric sought

Tehran - Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei yesterday ordered his supporters to end demonstrations against a dissident cleric who has challenged his authority. "End the marches. There is no need for them to continue," he said to a crowd of Islamist militiamen. He also called for the prosecution of the dissident cleric, Hossein Ali Montazeri, for "treason".
