BRISTOL Simple home experiments put Prof Denis Henshaw firmly on the trail of radon as a cancer cause linked to power lines.

The Bristol University scientist hung special plastic squares, radon detectors, from the basement ceiling of his home and alongside a wire plugged into the main. They revealed that the wire attracted the radon particles, whether the current was on or off.
