A postmortem will begin this morning on the remains of a man whose body was found in Co Dublin on Monday night.

Walkers found the body of the man, who was in his 40s, in a wooded area at Slade Valley, Brittas, at about 8.30pm.

The dead man’s car was found nearby.

Garda sources said they are treating the death as unexplained rather than suspicious.

While the results of the postmortem would determine whether the deceased, who has been identified, met with foul play, there is nothing at this stage to indicate anything sinister regarding his death.
