A pipe bomb was found under a car in a Dublin suburb earlier today.
An Army Bomb Disposal unit was called to an address on Captain's Avenue, Crumlin, at around 1.50am.
Members of the unit found the small device under a vehicle parked at the house and made it safe without having to do a controlled explosion.
"The improvised explosive device (IED) was removed and further examination of it is being carried out this morning in conjunction with investigating gardai," a Defence Forces spokesman said.
