Pedestrian killed in Lucan

A pedestrian has been killed following a road traffic collisioin in Lucan, Co Dublin early this morning.

A pedestrian has been killed following a road traffic collisioin in Lucan, Co Dublin early this morning.

The incident happened on Main Street Lucan shortly after 5am when the man in his twenties was struck by a passing car.

He was taken to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown, but died as a result of his injuries a short time later.

The area has been sealed off pending a technical examination.

Gardaí have also seized a vehicle as part of the investigaion.
