Increases in Eircom pay phone charges will come into effect next month, the company has announced. From July 6th, the new minimum call fee from payphones will be 30p for four minutes, up from 20p for three minutes.
The new all-day rate for Eircom payphone calls to mobile phones will be 39p per minute. The national call rate from payphones is now 35p per minute on weekdays and in the evenings and 7.5p per minute at weekends.
Payphone calls to international destinations will also change. These range from a 22 per cent reduction on daytime calls to the UK to a 58 per cent reduction on daytime calls to Australia.
