Brisbane - The parents of an 11-year-old girl were sentenced to 12 years' jail yesterday for selling their daughter for A$20 (about £42) to an elderly man for sex.
"The procuring of an 11year-old child by their natural parents for the purposes of sexual exploitation by an older man is at the epicentre of human depravity," said Judge John Robertson in the Ipswich district court, just outside the Queensland state capital of Brisbane.
