A senior al-Qaeda leader in Pakistan, Abu Hafs al-Shahri, has been killed, US officials said today.
Abu Hafs al-Shahri, believed to be a Saudi Arabian national, was described by one of the officials as chief of operations for al-Qaeda inside Pakistan.
There has been no independent confirmation of the death.
He also served as the militant group's coordinator with the main Pakistani Taliban group, known as the TTP, according to the official.
