The High Court has adjourned for a week proceedings in which the manager of a bank is seeking orders restraining it from assigning him to another branch.

On Wednesday last, Mr Justice Smyth gave leave to lawyers for Mr Michael Pattison, manager of the Bank of Ireland, O'Connell Street, Limerick, to serve notice on the bank of his intention to seek an injunction. When the case was mentioned yesterday, counsel for the bank applied for an adjournment to prepare a replying affidavit. Mr Roddy Horan, for Mr Pattison, said the bank had issued an "edict" in November 1999 that Mr Pattison should transfer to the city's Business Centre.
