SYDNEY - An old soldier collapsed and died, and several others were taken to hospital yesterday, during emotional ceremonies across Australia marking ANZAC Day, the day Australian and New Zealand troops landed at Gallipoli, Turkey, where 9,000 of them died.
Organisers said the annual ceremonies were the biggest in years. Only 11 of the veterans are still alive.
