They sit in the dark, looking at a series of screens. Where's the party, we ask? Sssssh. But, we're here for the party. Sssssssshhhh. The launch of Ireland's first on-line auction site is a bit of a techie fest. Sit in that chair and go and bid, we're told.

At least Rachel Dwyer, fundraiser and development manager with the Arthritis Foundation, is in party mood. She's rubbing her hands with glee. The auction site has just opened for business and the bidding for two stand tickets to the Ireland-Scotland rugby match in Lansdowne on February 19th which she has just made available are up for grabs. She's expecting to make a lot of money for the foundation. "This is the perfect medium to get to a lot of people." The auction of the tickets will close on Friday, February 11th. "Go and bid," she says. We will, we will. Just click www.ebid.ie
