Gaelic Games:Jack O'Connor will serve a third term as Kerry football manager after a unanimous vote at a county board meeting in Tralee tonight awarded him a new three-year term in charge.

Former Kerry goalkeeper Diarmuid Murphy has been appointed as a selector in place of Eamon Fitzmaurice, who stepped down after the All-Ireland quarter-final loss to Down. Ger O’Keeffe remains as the other selector.

Kerry county board chairman Jerome Conway confirmed that the appointments are for an extra year from the previous two-year term, as the county rebuild following their failure the All-Ireland decider for the first time since 2004.
