Racing:Ryan Moore and Aidan O'Brien scored a double this afternoon when the claimed the Betfair Huxley Stakes with Await The Dawn (8-11 favourite) and the MBNA Chester Vase with Treasure Beach.

On Await The Dawn, Moore was content to track the pacesetting Distant Memories for much of the contest. He pushed his partner to the front turning for home and the son of Giant's Causeway strode out well to score by four-and-a-half lengths.

Distant Memories (6-1) held on for second ahead of Frankie Dettori and Forte Dei Marmi.

The winning rider told Channel Four Racing: "We went a proper gallop and this horse travelled and stayed on very well."

Paul Smith, representing the owners, said: "We're delighted and we'll probably step him up now. We'll look at Royal Ascot and something like the Hardwicke or the Prince of Wales's."

It was Moore's second big win on successive days for O'Brien and it got better from there for the duo and the owners when Treasure Beach (7-2) grabbed the Vase by a head.

Moore brought his partner through to challenge over a furlong out to hold off the challenge of Nathaniel, who battled on well under William Buick.

"I had a nice spot round there," Moore said. "They went very steady early on and he travelled very well in behind them. When he got half a gap he quickened up very well and when he got to the front he probably eased up a bit.

"He'll have to improve to be a Derby horse."

Smith added: "I have spoken to Aidan and he was delighted with that. As for the future, the two possibilities at the moment would be the Derby and Royal Ascot because he stays well.

"That was a good education round a tight, turning track."

Both the winner and runner-up are now 20-1 for the Investec Derby with Sky Bet while Boylesports were more impressed with Treasure Beach and go 16s.
