The Minister of State for Housing and Urban Renewal, Ms Liz McManus, emphasised "good neighbourliness as the most fundamental support of all" when she launched the National Reach Out, Be a Good Neighbour Awards yesterday.

As part of the campaign, people are invited to nominate someone in their community, who has performed an act of kindness to a neighbour in need, with six award winners to be announced next March.
