Italy 20 Scotland 14

Italy 20 Scotland 14

Hooker Fabio Ongaro touched down as Italy recorded their first victory of the 2004 Six Nations campaign at the Stadio Flaminio.

John Kirwan's men dominated the second half following Ongaro's try moments after the interval and richly deserved a win which all but condemns the Scots to the wooden spoon.

Azzurri fly-half Roland de Marigny weighed in with five penalties - he kicked superbly all afternoon - while the boot of Chris Paterson and a late try from Simon Webster accounted for all of Scotland's points.
