Nestlé is to close its chocolate crumb factory in Mallow, Co Cork with the loss of 57 jobs.
Nestlé said it is consolidating production of this ingredient at its factory in Girvan, Scotland for efficiency reasons.
The Mallow factory is expected to close by March 2005.
Chocolate crumb is an ingredient made from milk, sugar and cocoa that is used in chocolate manufacture.
