Gardaí have begun a murder inquiry into the death of a young woman whose body was found in a derelict building in  Co Kildare yesterday.

The discovery was made by a local farmer at 2.15 p.m. yesterday in a disused shed in Eadestown, between Naas and Blessington.

The woman's body was taken to Navan General Hospital, where a post-mortem is being carried out today.

Officers at Naas Garda station are checking a list of missing people in an attempt to establish the victim's identity.

Chief Superintendent Sean Feeley, who is heading the murder inquiry, has appealed for a man who telephoned gardaí in Dublin about the case earlier in the week to come forward.
