A mother and child were injured yesterday when an aerosol can exploded, blowing out a window at a home in Mulhuddart, west Dublin. The can was in a handbag on the hearth, according to garda∅ who were called to Drumheath Drive.

The woman, aged 40, received scorch injuries to her face. Her three-year-old child, who was playing in the garden, was injured in the face by flying glass.
