Prize money worth more than €1 million is waiting to be claimed, the Prize Bond Company said today.
The company called on people to check the details of the 7,000 unclaimed prizes, some of which date back to the scheme's first year, 1957.
A booklet with information on current and unclaimed prizes is available from post offices throughout the country, and details can also be found on www.prizebonds.ie and on TV3 Threetext page 507.
In the Prize Bond draw, more than 2,300 tax-free prizes are won every week, with pay-outs ranging from €75 to the monthly jackpot, now worth €150,000.
