A surface-to-air missile was fired today at a C-130 military transport plane flying into Baghdad airport, but missed the target, a US military spokesman said.
"A C-130 was flying into Baghdad. It was fired upon by a surface-to-air missile," the spokesman said.
He said the incident happened around 8.45 a.m. (0445 GMT).
He had no information to how close the missile had come to hitting theaircraft.
