Dennis Wise, who was sacked by Leicester City earlier in the week, is expected to sign for Millwall on Tuesday.
Millwall boss Mark McGhee, a former Leicester manager, said the 35-year-old midfielder has yet to agree personal terms.
But McGhee told Sky Sports News: "He will be coming to sign for us on Tuesday and we're delighted that a player like Dennis will be joining us".
Leicester sacked Wise after Callum Davidson suffered a fractured cheekbone during an incident on the club's pre-season tour of Finland.

The Football League ordered the Foxes to reinstate Wise, but Leicester won an appeal against that decision on Wednesday and have terminated the former England midfielder's contract.
