Steve McManaman is determined to see out his contract at Real Madrid even though he admits he had just endured his worst season at the Bernabeu.

The former England midfielder, who has one year left on his contract, has frequently been frozen out of Vicente del Bosque's all-star line-up, which includes the likes of Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo and Ronaldo.

Although he regularly enjoyed first-team action in his first three seasons in Madrid, McManaman has only made 14 league appearances this season, which included only six starts, and has scored just one goal.

"In the last three years I have played a lot but this has been my worst year," said McManaman, who joined Real on a free transfer from Liverpool in the summer of 1999.

"At this time I am not thinking of leaving, I am only thinking of the fact that I have one more year left and I want to respect it.

"I am still happy in Madrid, I want to continue here, I have one more year left in my contract and that is it".
