THE CHAIRMAN of the Government review group on public expenditure, economist Colm McCarthy, is to address a public meeting next month on restoring trust in politics and business.

Mr McCarthy is to be joined by Green Party finance spokesman Senator Dan Boyle, journalist Susan O’Keeffe and speakers from the worlds of politics and business.

Event organisers Transparency International Ireland, an anti-corruption watchdog, said speakers would be asked for their views on whether Government and the private sector could be trusted to help the country to recover, and what role business ethics in public office would play in the recovery.

The meeting takes place in Buswells on Kildare Street, Dublin, at 7pm on September 8th. E-mail info@transparency.ie for further details.
