A HUMAN rights organisation has called on the British and German governments to guarantee adequate medical care to Ms Roisin McAliskey or grant her bail. The New York based Human Rights Watch said her detention was "an appalling violation of the most basic standards of care for prisoners".
Ms McAliskey, who is six months pregnant, is in Holloway prison awaiting extradition to Germany to face charges over an IRA mortar attack on a British army barracks. In a letter to the Home Secretary, Mr Michael Howard, the organisation said it had information which indicated that her classification as a high risk prisoner prevented her from receiving health care.
