A father of two was killed in a single-vehicle crash at Belcarra, near Castlebar, Co Mayo, early yesterday.
Brian Keane (25), of Clogher, Claremorris, was driving to work in Castlebar at about 7am when his car skidded and hit a wall.
An employee of Elvery’s Sports, Castlebar, he was the sole occupant of the vehicle. A native of Skirdagh, near Newport, Co Mayo, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The section of road where the impact occurred was closed for most of yesterday as a forensic examination was carried out.
