Minister for Foreign Affairs Micheál Martin will visit a number of Irish-sponsored charitable organisations in Uganda today.
Minister Martin is on a five-day trip to Africa where he is hoping to boost trade links with the continent and to review Ireland’s humanitarian aid to Uganda and Ethiopia.
Mr Martin will meet with Uganda's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Sam Kutenga, this morning before having lunch with members of the opposition in Kampala.
The minister will visit Hospice Uganda where he will open new buildings financed by Irish Aid and KPMG Ireland. He will also visit Traidlinks, a not-for-profit organisation which aims to build links between the Irish business community and the Irish Aid programme in developing countries.
Minister Martin will leave depart Uganda for Ethiopia on Wednesday.
