More than 200 fire calls were made by 8pm on Halloween night, while one person has been injured by a firework, according to Dublin Fire Brigade.
A live map of Halloween-related incidents launched earlier on Friday by the capital’s fire brigade service for what is arguably its busiest night showed about 20 fires by 5.30pm.
This had grown to more than 150 active fires by 9.30pm. The vast majority of these are bonfires, though there have been several reports of bins, trees, e-bikes and cars being on fire.
Firefighters also attended a suspected arson attack on a centre housing asylum seekers in Drogheda, Co Louth on Friday night, where residents were evacuated.

By 8pm, Dublin Fire Brigade said it had received 244 fire calls across Dublin. This is in addition to 401 ambulance calls.
An additional 140 regional fire calls, spanning Leinster, Cavan, and Monaghan, were received by 8pm.
A spokesman for Dublin Fire Brigade said firefighters and paramedics in Dolphin’s Barn responded to a person injured by a firework. Separately, a playground in Templeogue was set alight.

He said firefighters had extinguished a number of car fires across the city and county.
The spokesman said crews had experienced “limited antisocial behaviour”.
The 244 calls received by 8pm on Friday compare to 494 received in total on October 31st last year, which Dublin Fire Brigade said was its busiest Halloween night in a decade. A total of 435 ambulance calls were also received last year.
This compared to 244 fire calls and 385 ambulance calls across Dublin on October 31st, 2023.
In Northern Ireland, firefighters had a slightly less busy Halloween than last year, according to the number of call-outs.
The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said from 6pm on October 31st to 1am on November 1st, its crews responded to 53 operational incidents.
Several of the incidents were Halloween-related, including bonfires and fireworks, an NIFRS spokesperson said.
The figure represents a drop on the previous year, when between 6pm on October 31st, 2024 and 1am on November 1st, 2024, fire crew responded to 63 operational incidents.
The spokesperson described several of the incident as being Halloween-related, including 16 bonfires.
