Manufacturing ouput grew slightly in June to add 0.1 per cent growth year on year after falling by 0.7 per cent compared with May.

However, the seasonally adjusted volume of industrial production for manufacturing industries between April and June 2007 fell 8.8 per cent compared to the previous quarter.

The "modern" sector, which includes high-technology and chemical sectors, fell by 0.2 per cent year on year, while the "traditional" sector grew by 1.6 per cent.

The seasonally adjusted figures for the three-month period showed a 6 per cent fall compared with the preceding quarter. However, turnover rose 7.3 per cent higher annually when compared with June 2006.
