Steven Manly broke the Irish 100 metres individual medley record during the Irish Open Short Course Championships heats in Lisburn today.

The Terenure swimmer clocked a time of 57.27 seconds to earn himself a place in both the final and the record books.

The Short Course Championships continue at the Lisburn LeisurePlex until Saturday and feature many of Ireland’s top swimmers, including Sydney 2000 Olympian Chantal Gibney.
