A man who drove a car while his accomplice snatched handbags has been jailed for 18 months and is to use his time in prison to get off drugs.
Mr Luigi Rea, defending, said John Fitzpatrick (36), a father of two, of Henrietta House, Dublin, would accept the challenge offered by Judge Cyril Kelly to review the sentence favourably next July if he tackled his heroin problem.
Fitzpatrick admitted his role in two handbag snatches on September 11th and 13th, 1995, in Phibsboro and Manor Street.
