Man sets fire to himself in Dail protest

A man who set himself alight outside Leinster House in Dublin was recovering in hospital last night.

A man who set himself alight outside Leinster House in Dublin was recovering in hospital last night.

The man, carrying a placard protesting against "sex offenders", moved into the centre of Kildare Street shortly before 4 p.m., poured petrol over himself and set himself on fire.

Gardai extinguished the flames and the man was taken to St James's Hospital by ambulance.
