Man seriously injured in Dublin stabbing

A man is in a serious condition in hospital tonight after being stabbed in Dublin city centre this morning.

A man is in a serious condition in hospital tonight after being stabbed in Dublin city centre this morning.

A Garda spokesman said two men were involved in an altercation shortly before 12pm in the George's Quay area of the city near Tara Street station.

One man (25) was taken to St James’s hospital with a number of stab wounds to his upper body. While serious, his condition is not life threatening.

The spokesman said the second man fled the scene.

A crime scene was established and traffic restrictions were put in place.

Gardaí have appealed for anyone who was in the Tara Street station area between 11am and noon today to contact them.
