Man's death leads to clashes

Toulouse - Police and youths clashed in a suburb of Toulouse, south-west France, early yesterday when violent protests flared over the death of a young man in a police car chase. About 50 rioters burned cars and three people were arrested in the Bellefontaine neighbourhood west of Toulouse when local youths went on a rampage at about 1 a.m. Violence also erupted in Lyon 10 days ago after a suspect was killed by a shotgun blast while in police custody.
