Gardaí do not suspect foul play in the death of a man in his 30s whose body was found in Bray on Saturday morning.
The man, who was sleeping rough, was found on the grounds of a Tesco supermarket on Quinsborough Road at about 7.30am.
He was taken to St Columcille’s hospital in Loughlinstown where he was pronounced dead.
Temperatures fell below zero on Saturday night and hypothermia has not been ruled out as a cause of death. The man, whose family live locally, was 33-years-old and was well-known in the area.
Speaking this afternoon, Mayor of Bray Cllr Mick Glynn described the man's death as "very tragic".
"He was seen making a purchase at 7pm in Tesco and he then took a position in a hallway outside the shop.
"The staff recognised him at 11pm when they were closing up and they found him there on Saturday morning."
Cllr Glynn said the council officials have planned a meeting to consider if there are any further measures Bray Town Council could take to address the issue of homelessness.
