Man remanded over Cork death

A man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of his former partner in west Cork.

A man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of his former partner in west Cork.

Hadim Kedik (32) appeared before Macroom District Court chareged with the murder of Rose Patterson (30) from Clonakilty at Connolly Street in the town between April 11th and April 12th last.

The court heard Mr Kedik was charged by gardaí after caution this morning, with the assistance of an interpreter.

The court heard that after the charge was put to him, Mr Kedik said:"I didn't plan anything - I have nothing to say more at the moment and I feel remorse for the situation."

Judge James McNulty granted a Garda application and remanded Mr Kedik in custody at Cork Prison to appear before Skibereen District Court next Tuesday.

The body of Ms Patterson of Park View, Clonakilty, was found in an upstairs flat at Connolly Street in the town at about 11.40am last Thursday. A postmortem found she died from stab wounds.
